–In recent years, Money Magazine has named Apex the Best City to live in NC, as well as in the United States. Apex is known for being a smaller town, and is expanding slowly as we speak. There is still a small-town feel, with some nearby conveniences of big-city living.

–Downtown is kept as quaint and endearing as it was when it was built and is a nice attraction stop.

–It is kept clean and well maintained as a community. The overall population like to keep their homes in nice shape to contribute to this aesthetically beautiful landscape. Most residents own their homes.

–Safety is Apex’s middle name! They are often ranked in the top 20% of Safest American cities.

–Education is top priority is this area. Public schooling is rated very high and many high ranking universities and colleges are within miles of Apex, including UNC Chapel Hill, Duke University, and North Carolina State University.

–Known for it’s outdoor activity offerings, such as walking trails, swimming beaches, boating, music and other festivals throughout the year, as well as the Christmas parade in December.

–Apex is also known as a Railway town with trains still running through it every once in a while. Check out the Apex Union Depot that was erected in 1914 and now is the Visitor’s Center, as well as a few other offices.

–Cost of living is slightly higher than the national average with taxes and housing a tad bit higher, but utilities, transportation, and food are a tad lower than the average.

–Hot and humid summers are the norm here, as well as a very mild winters with barely ever any snow.

—And the final point the make is that there are Breweries, Farmers Markets, and Fruit Farms ‘a plenty. Community members are big on supporting each other and there are many options to do this with. I personally love to find local pottery in Farmers Markets.
